First, tell us your name, where you’re from, and where you live?

Hey, my name is Meghan, I’m originally from Smoky Lake, Alberta, and I live in Edmonton.

How long have you been creating with food, and what motivated you to pursue this expression as a career?

I began creating with food when I was a kid and found early on that food makes people feel good. I met my now husband, who loves hot sauce, so I started messing around with recipes and it turned out that I loved it too. My business began organically, through word of mouth and repeat customers.

How has been staying true to your own vision contributed to your success? - Are there any downsides in doing so?

I stopped caring early on about how to get followers on social media, and just did my thing. I find its pretty easy to see through people, and I am definitely not someone that can pretend anything. It may have its negative effects, I mean I’m sure it does, but I don’t live any other way.

Do you have any influences that drive your creativity?

Any mom out there, pursuing her dream while raising a family drives me. Meeting people that love our products drives me. Having the ability and complete decision-making power to help local organizations drives me.

What is your greatest joy in creating?

Seeing people get so excited about our sauces; it never gets old.

What does your audience/consumer base mean to you?

I wouldn’t be in business without every single person that has chosen to spend money on something I made. I am fully aware of this, and I take it very seriously.

What inspires you to get out of bed each day?

My family.

When you're not creating how do you spend your time?

Ha-ha cleaning, and spending time with my family.

What is the base of your creative process like?

I’m not sure, inspiration comes to me from nowhere most of the time. In the middle of doing something completely off topic.

I have lots to share, but I am not going to…yet.
